Novotel Saint Avold

It might not be the most charming hotel from the outside, inside its absolutely wonderful! The staff is super friendly, there’s a nice and welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast buffet (including gluten-free options) is wonderful too! The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. Our kids ended up being super sad that we were only staying for one night :-)

Location is great for travellers through France since it's two minutes off the motorway, but not at all noisy. Breakfast is excellent. Bar food in the evening is indifferent to poor. (If you want better than a dried out burger you need to head into town - but that's only 5 mins) Extremely welcoming of pets. The grounds are extensive and grassy bordered by woodland with pathways - so it's just great for post-driving dog zoomies Very friendly staff. Design of hotel is totally kid-friendly. Pool situated by the bar - so parents can keep an eye on things. A nice touch is a fizzy water dispenser in the hall way - much better than having to pay for bottled water!

The location just being off the motorway

Room was really clan and spacious, the bed was very comfy and we had an excellent nights sleep after a long drive from Italy. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choice and there was the option to eat outside if wanted.

Right next to the highway and good position for traveling through, but also in a wooded setting with a pool and gardens, and large parking lot. The rooms, carpets and pool enclosure could get a facelift as the entrance area and restaurant had and there is no elevator to the second floor, but comfortable bed, two good pillows with different heights to choose from, good shower, minibar, safe, big sink and separate WC. Staff was very friendly and the restaurant was open until 21:30. The breakfast buffet was good, but a bit pricey. By far not a Novohotel experience like the fabulous one in Bucharest but good value for the price.
